What is a Spiky Ball-Yin Yoga class?
This is a 60-minute class combining spiky balls and yin yoga.
Initially this class was created with athletes in mind by an inflexible triathlete, but it is really available to anyone with muscle tension, niggles and tight spots. It started as a 60min spiky ball class and evolved into a combination of spiky balls and yin yoga. Spiky balls are generally used first to help decrease muscle tension before moving into yin yoga poses to work on the fascia.
Spiky balls and lacrosse balls are to target tight muscles, which could be rolling on the plantar fascia or hip flexor (TFL) in the hip. Then we move into yin yoga poses, floor-based yoga holding poses for 2-3min working on the fascia.
Who could resist with pose names like Butterfly and Dragonfly!
When are the classes?
Our current class times are listed below but could be subject to change. When you go to “Book Appointment’ you will be able to see what is available.

How do I book a class?
Go to the “Book Appointment” tab on the website and choose the type of class and available times will be listed.
Appointments for Spiky Ball-Yin Yoga and Yin Yoga will be displayed in the calendar.
Our booking system will send a confirmation and you will receive a Zoom link within two hours of the class starting. Payment is required at the time of booking.
Technical requirements for the class: you will need Zoom and a computer, tablet or phone with a webcam and microphone.

Spiky ball and Yin Yoga classes are not only a great way of staying on top of any niggles present and helping to find some yin time while maintaining our community to connect online.
What do I need?
For all online classes you will need:
Yoga bolster (or pillows / cushions / foam roller)
Yoga blocks (or small rolled-up towels / cushions)
TheraBand (or towel)
Yoga mat (optional)
Plus, for an online Spiky Ball class, you wll also need:
Spiky ball or tennis ball
Lacrosse ball or golf ball
